50 Cent Reveals 'Drake Opp List' in Recent Interview: 50 Spills the Tea Who Made the Cut?
During a recent interview with Big Boy, 50 Cent unveiled a printed "Drake Opp List," causing a stir among fans and media alike. The list, which includes this very publication, has fueled speculation about the origins and validity of its contents.
The conversation focused on Drake's turbulent 2024, particularly his legal battle against UMG and others related to Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us," a track nominated for several Grammys.
50 Cent theorized that Drake's legal strategy might be an attempt to prevent the song from being performed at the Super Bowl during Kendrick's headlining set in New Orleans next February.
"See, sue Apple, sue Universal," 50 Cent explained. "Then have your attorneys contact NFL corporate and say, 'Look, we don't want you guys to involve yourselves in this nasty lawsuit.'"
He also acknowledged the prevalence of "false statements" in hip-hop battles, referencing Drake's defamation claims regarding "Not Like Us." According to 50 Cent, those targeted by Drake's legal actions are "guilty of what he says they did," but he stressed that this is simply "just business" in the industry, drawing parallels to his own experiences.
To illustrate his point, 50 Cent presented the "Opp List," arguing that Drake's consistent success has made him a target for those who feel threatened by his achievements.
"This is the opp page. He was just winning consistently more than everybody else in the culture, and then these people start to feel like they're opps," he stated.
The list features a diverse range of names, including LeBron James, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, Anthony Fantano, Jack Dorsey, and Bobbi Althoff. The list's origin appears to be a tweet from a Drake fan account back in October
