Subomi Balogun:FCMB founder dies at 89 in London


According to reports, Balogun reportedly died in London Friday morning at the age of 89.

Subomi Balogun who pioneered investment banking (FCMB) as well as indigenous financial entrepreneurship in Nigeria, was 89 years old ร t his last birthday.


FCMB (First City Monument Bank) was founded by Oloye Subomi Michael Balogun. He established the bank in 1982 in Nigeria. 

Oloye Subomi Michael Balogun is a prominent Nigerian businessman and philanthropist. He served as the bank's chairman until 2010 when he retired from active service. FCMB has since grown to become one of the leading financial institutions in Nigeria.
