This abrupt decision is fueled by a long-standing and increasingly public feud involving hip-hop mogul Jay-Z and his entertainment company, Roc Nation.

The core of Minaj's public grievances appears to stem from alleged disputes over her equity stake in the music streaming service TIDAL, which Jay-Z co-founded. Minaj has repeatedly claimed that she was not properly compensated for her stake in TIDAL when it was sold, asserting that she is owed between $100 million and $200 million. She has accused unspecified industry figures, prominently including Jay-Z, of actively working against her to suppress her success and control her career.
