Antetokounmpo’s latest accolade comes on the heels of a stellar week that saw the Bucks post a 3-1 record, even with the Greek forward sitting out one game a contest Milwaukee still managed to win. In the three games he played, Giannis averaged 36.0 points, 12.3 rebounds, 13.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game, showcasing his all-around dominance.

His shooting efficiency was equally remarkable, with a 63.8% field goal percentage, 50% from beyond the arc, and 83.8% from the free-throw line. These numbers underscore not only his scoring prowess but also his playmaking and defensive impact, traits that have defined his ascent to superstardom since entering the league in 2013.

The pinnacle of his week came on April 3, when Antetokounmpo notched a triple-double in a 126-113 rout of the Philadelphia 76ers. Finishing with 35 points, 17 rebounds, and a career high 20 assists, he orchestrated the Bucks’ offense with precision while dominating the boards.

This performance was a historic one for Giannis, as it marked his highest assist total in a single game and further cemented his reputation as a versatile force capable of impacting every facet of play. The victory over Philadelphia, a fellow Eastern Conference contender, highlighted Milwaukee’s reliance on their franchise cornerstone as they push for playoff positioning.

This Player of the Week nod is the 17th of Antetokounmpo’s career, a milestone that ties him with LeBron James for the fourth-most selections in NBA history, surpassing the legendary Michael Jordan. Earlier this season, Giannis also claimed the award for Week 5 alongside Sacramento Kings forward Harrison Barnes.

Reflecting his consistent excellence throughout the 2024-25 campaign. With two MVP awards, a Finals MVP, and an NBA championship already on his resume from the 2021 title run, the 30 year old continues to build a legacy that places him among the game’s all time greats.

For the Bucks, Antetokounmpo’s form is a promising sign as the regular season winds down, Milwaukee has leaned heavily on his production, especially amid challenges like injuries to key players and the integration of new talent under head coach Doc Rivers. The team’s 3-1 record during Week 24 included wins over tough opponents, reinforcing their status as a top-tier squad in the East.
