The California listening party, held as the latest stop in a tour that has included Paris, London, New York, and Atlanta, drew a mix of fans, industry insiders, and fellow artists eager to preview 5ive. Davido has positioned the album as a deeply personal and ambitious work, blending his signature Afrobeats sound with international influences.

The collaboration with Shenseea, real name Chinsea Linda Lee, emerged as a standout moment of the night, with footage circulating online capturing the duo’s dynamic chemistry and the crowd’s enthusiastic response. The track reportedly fuses Afrobeats rhythms with dancehall flair, a testament to both artists’ versatility and their ability to bridge cultural sounds.

Shenseea’s inclusion on 5ive was first teased in March 2025, when Davido confirmed her as one of several high-profile features, alongside American R&B singer Victoria MonΓ©t and a roster of African talents including Omah Lay, Chike, Odumodublvck, Victony, and YG Marley.

Speaking to the press at the time, Shenseea expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating, “That shit is going to eat. Just make sure to tell Davido to shoot a video because I love that feature.” Her confidence appears well-founded, as the live rendition in California showcased a track brimming with infectious energy and cross-genre appeal, poised to resonate with global audiences.

This isn’t the first time Davido and Shenseea have crossed paths musically. Their shared orbit in the international music scene Davido as a pioneer of Afrobeats’ global rise and Shenseea as a dancehall force behind hits like “Blessed” and her 2024 album Never Gets Late Here makes this pairing a natural fit. The unreleased song, produced by a yet to be named collaborator.

Though Davido’s frequent partners Shizzi and Tempoe are credited across the album), highlights their complementary strengths: Davido’s melodic hooks and Shenseea’s commanding vocal presence. Clips from the performance reveal a pulsating beat and lyrics that hint at a celebratory, dancefloor-ready anthem, though official details like the track’s title and runtime remain under wraps.

The listening party itself was a testament to 5ive’s buzzworthy status. Held in a sleek Los Angeles venue, the event drew notable figures, including Nigerian artist Asake, whose backstage presence sparked speculation about his potential involvement in the project. Davido has kept the full tracklist closely guarded, but the California crowd was treated to a curated selection of cuts.
