Wizkid has added a new dimension to his illustrious career with the release of his self-directed music video for "Kese (Dance)." Kese (Dance) is one of the lead singles from Morayo, an album released in November 2024 as a heartfelt tribute to Wizkid’s late mother. The song quickly soared to prominence, shattering streaming records with over 1.5 million plays on Spotify Nigeria within its first 24 hours.

It also claimed the No. 1 spot on the Official Nigeria Top 100 chart and dominated Apple Music’s Top Charts, underscoring Wizkid’s enduring dominance in the Afrobeats scene. Now, with the accompanying video, the artist takes fans deeper into his creative world, blending his musical prowess with a bold visual narrative.

Produced by JM Films, the "Kese" video unfolds across three distinct settings, each reflecting a facet of Wizkid’s artistic vision. The first scene features a dimly lit theater where ballerina esque dancers perform intricate choreography, evoking a sense of elegance and precision.

This transitions into a vibrant house party sequence, where Wizkid himself joins the revelry, exuding the charisma that has made him a global superstar. The video concludes in an art gallery, where elegantly dressed Black models pose amidst striking visuals, a subtle yet powerful nod to cultural pride and identity.

The release has ignited widespread conversation among fans and critics alike. On social media platforms like Twitter, reactions have ranged from admiration to constructive critique. Many have lauded the video’s polished execution, with one user describing it as “clean, classy, and a testament to Wizkid’s evolution.”

Others, however, have suggested that while the effort is commendable, the visuals occasionally fall short of capturing the song’s pulsating rhythm, proposing that a veteran director might have amplified its impact.

Regardless, the consensus is clear: Wizkid’s directorial debut is a bold step forward, reinforcing his reputation as a multifaceted artist unafraid to push boundaries. This milestone arrives at a pivotal moment for Wizkid, who is preparing to embark on his highly anticipated Morayo tour later in 2025.
