Organizers announced the star studded lineup via the festival’s official Instagram account and website, igniting excitement among fans and music enthusiasts worldwide. Couleur CafΓ©, now in its 34th year, has long been a cornerstone of Brussels’ summer calendar, renowned for its eclectic mix of genres spanning funk, reggae, hip-hop, soul, and world music.

The inclusion of Davido and Omah Lay as headliners reflects the festival’s ongoing commitment to embracing diverse sounds and spotlighting the meteoric rise of Afrobeats on the global stage. Joining them are an impressive array of international talents, including British rapper Little Simz, American hip-hop artist Denzel Curry.

For Omah Lay, born Stanley Omah Didia, this marks a triumphant return to Couleur CafΓ©. The Port Harcourt native previously captivated audiences at the festival in 2022, a performance that coincided with his breakout moment on the international scene following the release of his debut album, Boy Alone.

Known for introspective lyrics and a seamless blend of Afrobeats, R&B, and highlife, Omah Lay has since solidified his status as one of Nigeria’s most promising exports. His June 27 set is poised to draw heavily from his growing discography, including fan favorites like “Soso” and “Bad Influence,” offering festival goers an immersive introduction to the weekend’s festivities.

The pairing of Davido and Omah Lay at Couleur CafΓ© underscores the festival’s knack for curating lineups that bridge generational and stylistic divides within the music world. Afrobeats, once considered a regional sound, has evolved into a global phenomenon.

With artists like these two leading the charge. Their presence in Brussels not only highlights their individual artistry but also signals the genre’s enduring appeal to European audiences, a trend that has seen African music festivals and headliners proliferate across the continent in recent years.
