Lionel Messi Lands in Sixth Place in The Best FIFA Men's Player Rankings

Messi's nomination this year was based on his impressive debut season with Inter Miami in MLS, culminating in their first Supporters' Shield title. He also played a crucial role in helping Argentina defend their Copa America title last summer. However, some questioned his inclusion, suggesting he wasn't even Argentina's best player in 2024.

The ceremony in Qatar saw Rodri, the Ballon d'Or winner, finish second, followed by Jude Bellingham in third place. Dani Carvajal and Lamine Yamal secured fourth and fifth positions, respectively, leaving Messi just outside the top five. The remaining top ten included Toni Kroos, Erling Haaland, Kylian Mbappe, Florian Wirtz, and Federico Valverde.

Messi is currently enjoying a well-deserved break after a busy MLS season, where Inter Miami, despite their early playoff exit, achieved a historic title win.

Lionel Messi, born on June 24, 1987, in Rosario, Argentina, is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers of all time. With a record eight Ballon d'Or awards, he has dazzled fans with his extraordinary dribbling, vision, and goal-scoring ability. After a legendary career at Barcelona, he now plays for Inter Miami, continuing to inspire future generations.

In 2024, Lionel Messi continued to dazzle the football world, leading Inter Miami to their first MLS Cup. He scored an astounding 30 goals, earning the Golden Boot. Additionally, Messi played a pivotal role in Argentina’s successful defense of their Copa America title, securing his status as a legend.
