Messi's outstanding contributions have earned him widespread acclaim, adding a third Player of the Matchday award to his accolades and being named MLS Player of the Month for April. 


By claiming three out of the last four matchday prizes, Messi has equaled the record set by his former Barcelona teammate Thierry Henry during his tenure with the Red Bulls in 2012.
