During a recent interview, the maestro behind "Stand Strong" delved into the intricacies of his initial foray into the international music scene, recounting the pivotal moment when Sony Music extended their partnership to him in 2016.


Davido candidly revealed the challenges he encountered during the nascent stages of this collaboration, highlighting the necessity to reintroduce himself to the management team. He elucidated on the collaborative process, emphasizing the directive from Sony Music to engage with designated producers and music professionals for his debut album.


Despite the concerted efforts invested in the project, Davido humbly acknowledged its underwhelming reception, attributing its shortcomings to a lack of synergy with the selected team, who failed to grasp the nuances of African musical styles.
