In a recent interview with RMC, Nasser Al-Khelaifi shared insights into the challenges faced by Paris Saint-Germain (PSG)

Al-Khelaifi specifically addressed Lionel Messi's performance at the Parc des Princes, highlighting the contrast with his successful tenure at Barcelona. 


Speaking to former PSG midfielder Jerome Rothen, Al-Khelaifi emphasized the differences Messi encountered upon joining PSG, where the team dynamics included other prominent players such as Kylian Mbappé and Neymar.

During his two seasons in France, Messi secured the Ligue 1 title twice and demonstrated commendable goal-scoring prowess. However, despite his accomplishments, there was a prevailing sentiment that Messi did not reach the pinnacle of his abilities while at PSG. 


The team's premature exits from the Champions League in both seasons, notably against Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, underscored the challenges PSG faced in achieving a balanced performance at the highest level of European competition.
