Chelsea Football Club has strengthened their offensive capabilities with the acquisition of Nicolas Jackson from Villarreal.

The talented striker has joined the club for an estimated sum of £32 million and has committed to an eight-year contract. Notably, Jackson's initial contract included a release clause of £30 million; however, Chelsea opted to negotiate more favorable payment terms by agreeing to a marginally higher transfer fee.

Jackson's arrival marks Mauricio Pochettino's second signing since assuming the managerial role at the Premier League giants in May.

The Argentine coach had already secured the services of Christopher Nkunku, a former forward for RB Leipzig, for a notable sum of £52 million. Nkunku made an impressive impact towards the conclusion of the season, exhibiting his goal-scoring prowess by netting nine goals in his final eight games.

According to reports, Chelsea went slightly above the stipulated release clause in order to expedite the completion of the deal for Jackson. This strategic move demonstrates the club's eagerness to secure the player's services promptly.

Furthermore, Jackson's arrival follows shortly after Chelsea's announcement of Ruben Loftus-Cheek's permanent transfer to Milan. Loftus-Cheek, a talented midfielder, has embarked on a new chapter in his career, having inked a four-year contract with the Italian club.

Cezar Azpilicueta has entered into negotiations for a potential two-year transfer to Atletico Madrid, despite previous reports linking him to Inter.

Earlier this month, Azpilicueta had reached an agreement on personal terms with Inter, leading to expectations of his imminent move to Italy on a free transfer.

Chelsea, in recognition of his 11 years of dedicated service, had granted the Spaniard the freedom to determine his own future. However, Atletico Madrid has now emerged as a contender in securing Azpilicueta's services, offering him the opportunity to return to his home country. The prospect of a return to Spain is believed to be appealing to Azpilicueta and his family, thereby increasing the likelihood of Atletico acquiring the signature of the 33-year-old defender.

Furthermore, Atletico Madrid's decision to part ways with Matt Doherty, a former right-back for Tottenham, has accentuated the need for a proficient replacement in Diego Simeone's defensive setup. Cezar Azpilicueta, with his wealth of experience and versatility, is seen as the ideal candidate to fill this void in the squad.

Azpilicueta's impressive track record and unwavering commitment to Chelsea over the course of 11 years have earned him admiration and respect. As a gesture of appreciation, Chelsea has allowed the Spaniard the autonomy to shape his future and explore potential opportunities.
