The 2023 annual Costume Institute Benefit—better known as the Met Gala—will take place on May 1, 2023, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. 


The event has taken place on the first Monday in May every year since 2005, apart from in 2020, when the Met Gala was cancelled, and in 2021, when it was held in September, as a result of the pandemic This year's theme is "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion" and will be co-chaired by TimothΓ©e Chalamet, Billie Eilish, Amanda Gorman, and Naomi Osaka

The 2023 Met Gala is scheduled to take place on Monday evening. The event takes place annually at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts, every first Monday of May. 


This year's theme has been dubbed "Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty," and the dress code is "in honor of Karl". Some 400 guests are expected to attend the 2023 Met Gala, dressing to honor the theme decided by the Costume Institute’s chief curator, Andrew Bolton


The event will be livestreamed on Vogue in a broadcast hosted by La La Anthony, Chloe Fineman and Derek Blasberg. Fans can tune in on Vogue’s website and on Vogue’s YouTube, Instagram, Twitter.
