Unveiling the Latest in Max: 10 Key Transformations as HBO Max Teams up with Discovery, Unveils Enhanced Features

Max, Warner Bros. Discovery’s bulked-up and revamped streaming service that takes the place of HBO Max, makes it U.S. debut on Tuesday (May 23). Max makes several subtle enhancements aimed at making the service easier to use and more engaging — while execs say it should also be more stable than HBO Max.

As per the company's announcement, a significant number of HBO Max subscribers will receive automatic updates to transition to Max, although some users may be prompted to download the updated Max app.

The seamless transition is expected to retain subscribers' previous plan details, profiles, avatars, and settings, including the migration of "Continue Watching" and "My List" items, ensuring a smooth experience with the new Max platform.
In preparation for the Max launch, WBD has established "war rooms" in various global locations, such as Bellevue, Wash., New York, and London.

These dedicated spaces are equipped with monitoring systems that have the capacity to generate up to 1,000 alerts in the event of any issues. Avi Saxena, the CTO of Warner Bros. Discovery, confirms that the entire team is on standby, ready to address any potential challenges that may arise during the launch.

As per WBD's statement, regular app updates for Max will be rolled out every few weeks, beginning as early as mid-June. The company emphasizes its commitment to actively assess customer feedback on a daily basis, ensuring that new features and fixes are prioritized based on user input.

Max is accessible on a wide range of platforms, mirroring the availability of HBO Max. These platforms include iOS devices (such as iPhone and iPad), Android devices, Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablet, Android TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, LG Smart TV, Roku, Samsung TV, Vizio SmartCast TV, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One, as well as various web browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge for Windows, and Apple Safari.
