Everton 0-3 Manchester City: Premier League

Captain Gundogan is leading Man City to that fifth title in six seasons. Last week he scored twice in the win at Leeds.

He then got an assist at Real Madrid in midweek. And at Goodison Park, there was another demonstration of why Pep Guardiola is desperate for the 32-year-old to extend his contract with the club beyond its expiry this summer.

He break Everton's resistance on 37 minutes. Moments later he turned provider, crossing for Erling Haaland to head in with just his third touch of the match.

Then came a wonderful Gundogan free-kick on 51 minutes to end the contest. It was some way to mark his 300th appearance for the club.

City's four-point advantage over an Arsenal side which has played a game more means they will win the title on Saturday - if Arsenal lose at Nottingham Forest - or on Sunday if they beat Chelsea, with both games

Everton are a point and a place above the relegation zone with two games to play. A victory for Leicester against Liverpool on Monday would shunt them back into the bottom three.
Erling Haaland’s 52nd goal of the season and Ilkay Gundogan’s second brace in as many weekends saw Premier League leaders Manchester City take a huge step towards another title with a 3-0 win over Everton

City’s attentions now turn towards Wednesday’s showdown against Real Madrid, with that Champions League blockbuster all square at 1-1.

Goal difference to Arsenal means Guardiola’s side realistically need a maximum of five points from their remaining league matches against Chelsea, Brighton and Brentford to be crowned champions for the fifth time in six seasons.

The City players take in the applause from a jubilant away end. It feels like they're almost there. Two wins from the remaining three matches will seal the title.

'He can do EVERYTHING'

after his Everton masterclass as he urges the out-of-contract midfielder to stay at the club despite Barcelona interest

Guardiola said: 'Ilkay shows again, again and again his quality and his importance. His commitment to all of us at the club.

It's not just scoring goals, he has his momentum because against Leeds, he was the player and again here He can do everything.
